Don’t Suffer in Silence - Zero Tolerance to Domestic Abuse
Venture operates a Zero Tolerance policy to domestic abuse in our properties.
We work in partnership with a range of agencies including Project Chrysalis and Centre 56 to provide sanctuary and support to those living with or fleeing from domestic abuse or violence.
We are committed to protecting the lives of adults and children suffering from domestic abuse or violence and to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Every minute in the UK the police receive a call from a member of the public suffering from domestic abuse.
Domestic violence or domestic abuse can describe a wide range of physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse of people who are, or have been, intimate partners – whether or not they have been married or living together.
It accounts for nearly a quarter of all violent crimes reported to the police and it is estimated that 1 in 4 women will experience some form of domestic violence in their lives.
Whilst it is mainly women who are subject to domestic abuse or violence it can happen to anybody regardless of age, ability, sexuality, ethnicity, culture, faith, economic or social background.
Children living with domestic abuse can be particularly affected by this experience and it is important that both adults and children are given support to deal with the emotions and feelings dealing with domestic violence can bring.
