I think there is a need for residents with communal hallways to have fire extinguishers placed in the hallways in case of fire and simple information on how to use them. I think this matter is of extreme importance and I am very surprised that it has been overlooked.

On the advice of the Fire Service we removed all fire fighting equipment from communal hallways, it is their advice that residents, in the event of a fire, should leave the building as quickly as possible. All our flat doors offer a minimum of 30 minutes fire protection. The Association has a programme to ensure that within the next 5 years each communal hallway has a full fire protection system. It is important that any Fire Doors are not jammed open.
