Community Chest Fund

Merseyside Police Authority Community Grants also available - see below

Important Notice 12 January 2012 - Our fund for 2011/2012 has now been exhausted, apologies if you wish to apply for funding this year

Each year Venture offers financial support to a range of local voluntary and charitable organisations to deliver projects which benefit the wider community. Last year we helped projects as diverse as the Homeless Football League, an angling club in Belle Vale and the Liverpool African Associations after school club.

Our Community Chest offers small grants for projects which:

  • help to build stronger communities that get on well together
  • reduce crime or the fear of crime
  • support people back into work

Our frequently asked questions will tell you more about the criteria we use.

Already this year we’ve helped develop a sensory garden for partially sighted and blind people, supported the Tranmere Wardens to take 48 young people on a 3 week canal expedition with the Wirral Narrow Boat Trust, and contributed toward the cost of a highly successful community arts festival in Newsham Park.

Community Chest Criteria

Venture Housing Association will consider applications which:

  • are from formally constituted organisations
  • bring communities together
  • reduce the risk of crime and anti social behaviour
  • engage young people in activities they would otherwise be unable to participate in
  • help to achieve our Business Plan Aims and Objectives
  • move people from benefit dependency into paid work
  • contribute to the development of healthier, more active communities
  • support people to remain in their homes

Venture Housing Association will not consider applications which:

  • duplicate existing projects or events
  • are party political
  • are purely social in nature and do not contribute to any of the above
  • do not provide full supporting evidence

Merseyside Police Authority Community Grants

Community organisations whose work has an impact on community safety and crime reduction within their neighbourhood are being invited to apply for a grant from Merseyside Police Authority.

The Police Property Act Fund is held by Merseyside Police Authority and is funded by money that has come from the sale of property which has come into the police's possession through crimes. Not for profit organisations can apply for the funds and the amount that can be approved will be considered on a case by case basis.

There are certain criteria that an organisation has to meet before an application will be considered.

  • The organisation must be Merseyside based.
  • It must be a bona fide organisation with not for profit purposes.
  • The project has an impact on community safety and crime reduction.
  • The desired outcomes can be easily measured.

If you would like to apply for a grant of £500 or less, please fill in the form below and return it to the address stated at the bottom of the application.
