How to report a repair

There are a number of ways that you can report your request for repairs to us:

  • During normal office hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday) call our Customer Service Team 0151 261 2100
  •  
  • For out of hours emergencies please call 0151 261 2100
  •  
  • Via this website (not for emergency calls) and the repair team need 72 hours notice for any repair coming through via the website
  •  
  • Call in at our reception at the Boaler Street office.
  •  
  • By letter addressed to the Building Services Department / Manager
  •  
  • To a Venture Housing member of staff during a visit
  •  
  • Remember - if your repair is a gas repair, please contact PH Jones on 0151 343 4198

Before reporting a repair, please note that there are a number of items that you, as a tenant, are responsible for. In some cases responsibilities may vary, for example if you are a tenant in one of our sheltered schemes, but in general your responsibilities include:

  • Light bulbs including fluorescent tubes, fuses, minor plaster repairs and blocked waste pipes.
  • Replacement of lost keys
  • Glazing, except in certain circumstances
  • Internal redecoration, except in certain specific circumstances
  • Anything in your home that belongs to you.

If you are in doubt about a repair please call us for clarification.

What information do we need from you?

When you request a repair we need the following information from you:

  • Your name, address and telephone number
  • What you think is wrong, in as much details as possible
  • When someone will be at home or where we can get a key to access your property. (Saturday morning appointments can be arranged for those unable to be at home during the week)

What can you expect from the contractors we use

In partnership with our Tenants Committee we have agreed a Code of Conduct that all Contractors working on behalf of Venture must adhere to. That code can be read here.

If you believe a contractor may not be keeping to these rules please let us know immediately.
